Crazy for Fall Neutrals

I usually have a personality shift between Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter, since I switch from colors to neutrals. Fall Neutrals such as camels, blacks and whites are my perfect combination of fall colors. I find that I invest more in fall and winter pieces, because I like to make sure that these pieces last for a long time. Therefore, I pick neutral colors so that I can wear them interchangeably and that the style doesn’t fade. I wanted to share some outfit ideas with you in case you want to try out this combination.

All the pieces in this post came from a local thrift shop called Portaluca Boutique in Cincinnati. This thrift boutique benefits Dress for Success Cincinnati. To those of you that aren’t familiar with Dress for Success, they are a non profit organization that helps women with jobs training and interview training to name a few. Women donate their gently used clothing to this organization. Their donations, oftentimes, include designer pieces as well. These donations will go to either the Suiting Program or to Portaluca Boutique.

I also used to Volunteer for their suiting program. The donated work appropriate clothing allows the program to provide clothing for underserved women that are in the job interview process and have recently received employment. Clothing that can’t be used for the suiting program will go to Portaluca Boutique to be sold to the general public. The proceeds go to Dress for Success. I love that I can mix my love of secondhand with a cause that I support. I have been volunteering for this organization for quite a while. Also, I’ve gotten some wonderful pieces from the boutique that have lasted a very long time. Below are some of the neutral pieces that I wanted to showcase.

Animal Prints, in my opinion, are a great neutral. They’re a brilliant way to spice things up. I love that the chunky and comfy knits are on trend. I paired it with a quilted black faux leather skirt. Mixing textures is a great way to make fall neutrals more interesting. I like to infuse a little designer with my secondhand pieces. I’ve had these Salvatore Ferragamo shoes for a while, and the color scheme makes it cohesive.

A lot of people shy away from white in the fall and winter. In my opinion, it’s very chic (especially wide leg). The wrap jacket is a classic sophisticated silhouette. These are pieces that can also be worn during warmer months, and therefore get a lot of wear from your clothes. They’re also timeless and therefore the style will be relevant for a long time.

I love the rich texture of this wrap sweater. The pencil ankle pants in a gorgeous camel color just makes the outfit feel luxurious. These Prada kitten heels with the bow details and stitching is stunning. All of these wonderful clothes are from Portaluca Boutique. Gently used can still have a luxe vibe

Some pieces from Portaluca Boutique are available to purchase on their website. They are also available on Poshmark as well.
